Family papers, 1851-1920 (bulk 1913-1914).

The collection contains family letters, papers, and genealogical materials. The genealogical materials were prepared by Eitel while researching a proposed book on his uncle's ancestry, notably the Slick, Marine, Wilson, and Harvey families, and Andrew A. Riley. Family papers mainly concern Reuben A. Riley, James Whitcomb's father. Included are his letters, some to his son (1870-1900); his poetry; and an 1851 deed to Phenton A. Riley. Also included are photo portraits, probably of Reuben Riley and Henry Eitel.
